Free resources from the Department of Basic Education

Past papers, study guides, teaching plans and workbooks - the official links, gathered in one place.

School Tracker is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Department of Basic Education. We gather these links only to help pupils and parents reach the DBE's free resources more easily.

The Department of Basic Education creates and publishes these resources free for every learner - they set the curriculum and run the exams. We simply bring the official links together in one place. The resources stay theirs, and stay free.

What are the ATP and the Workbooks?

ATP (Annual Teaching Plan): the DBE's official plan of the core content and skills to be taught in each subject, term by term. Use it to check your child is keeping pace with the syllabus.

Workbooks: the DBE's free "Rainbow" workbooks for Grades R-9, full of CAPS-aligned worksheets and activities in Languages and Mathematics. Free to download and print.

Please note: these links open landing pages on the Department of Basic Education's own website (education.gov.za). The DBE updates and reorganises its site from time to time, so a page or document can move, change or be withdrawn - that is exactly why the DBE's own site cautions that external availability can change, and we repeat it here. Availability and accuracy are not guaranteed. If a link no longer works, visit education.gov.za and search for the resource by name.

Spotted a broken link?

These resources live on the DBE's own site and can move without warning. If a link no longer works, tell us and we'll fix it. Your details are optional - leave them if you'd like us to let you know once it is sorted.
